Independent Booksellers Week

To help celebrate last week’s Independent Booksellers’ Week we asked our Facebook friends to tell us about their favourite book shops…

We had some great recommendations for as far a field as Powell’s books in Portland, Oregon; Voltaire & Rousseau in Glasgow; Sanctuary Bookshop in Lyme Regis, Chapters in Dublin; Hunting Raven Books in Frome and Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights in Bath.

If you’re based in London then Bolingbroke Bookshop, Northcote Road and SlightlyFoxedBookshop in Gloucester Road were also recommended.

And we had lots of praise from Mark Thwaite (Quercus) for the wonderful Daunt Books in Holland Park as well as (our local) The London Review Bookshop for its delicious taste in both books and cake.

Caroline Butler (Quercus) is also a fan of new independent book shop Woolfson & Tay over in her stomping ground of Bermondsey.
