What’s you comfort food?
Mashed Potato.
What’s your favourite tipple?
Red wine.

Neither. Goldfish once.
What keeps you sane?
My grandchildren.
What scares you?
Death of someone I love, personal incapacity.
Town or country?
Seaside.
What’s your favourite holiday read?
Too broad a question to answer.
What is the best present you’ve ever received?
A watch from my family on my 60th.
What have you learned about yourself as you’ve got older?
That being very tall doesn’t matter!
What would people be surprised to discover about you?
I hate being trapped in places I can’t easily get out of, for instance the middle of a row in a crowded theatre.
Sweet or savoury?
Savoury every time. Not a fan of sweet things.
What is your favourite sport?
To watch, Rugby, to play, none. Hopeless at all sport.
What is your favourite way to travel?
First class! Train, if that’s what you mean.
Would you rather read the book or watch the film first?
Read the book. No point in reading it afterwards, the characters are already set for you then.

Night in.

John Denver and M.A. Chapentier opera.
