Desperate for the next Game of Thrones? Prince of the Spear continues the Sunsurge Quartet and delivers a full-on fix of epic fantasy. The unthinkable has happened. With the Leviathan Bridge critically damaged and its towers unable to control the skies between Yuros and Antiopia, the East has invaded the West. A vast windfleet, constructed in secret, is winging across the Pontic SeaThe holy Shihad has begun. The Rondian Empire is divided and weak. Empress Lyra has barely survived a coup, triggered by a masked cabal whose members still remain concealed in the highest echelons of her court. Only Lyra's secret affinity to the heretical power of dwyma saved her - but that affinity is also her most dangerous weakness. As empires clash, lives are torn apart and long-held beliefs are overthrown by circumstance and desperation. A young queen whose court is riddled with traitors turns to the wrong people in her hour of need. Two princes clash in the skies, the fate of two nations riding on their skill. Two brothers must reconcile disparate cultures to regain their kingdom. An idealistic rabble-rouser sees a chance to strike. And a small group of dwymancers grope blindly for knowledge in a race against time before the masked Cabal strike again.

The third part in an epic historical trilogy - The Estonian answer to Wolf Hall - by the nation's greatest modern writer 1578. A ship from Rostock arrives in Tallinn loaded with printed copies of Balthasar Russow's Chronicle - the culmination of our hero's life's work. But though it is an instant success, as it was in Rostock and numerous German cities, not everyone is happy to see it published. A group of local gentry denounce it to the town council as "a book of heinous falsehoods", and lobby for Balthasar to relieved as pastor of Holy Ghost Church. But all is not lost. Balthasar may call on a powerful ally - if he is willing to pay the price. In this final volume, fierce storms, along with famine, war and plague, continue to be loosed upon Livonia. Balthasar's personal life, too, is fraught with turbulence and loss, much of it stemming from his own jealousy and suspicion.

Blackberry and Wild Rose

For fans of Jessie Burton and Tracy Chevalier, a rich historical debut set among the Huguenot silk weavers of Spitalfields in the late 18th centuryWhen Esther, the God-fearing wife of a master silk weaver, rescues Sara from a bawdy house she thinks she is doing God's will. But the secret which binds the two women together could prove to be their destruction. Sara finds the forced intimacy of her relationship with her new mistress almost as difficult as her former life, and soon sees through the household's veneer of morality. Artistic and talented, Esther has been secretly drawing her own silk patterns for years. But her dreams of being a silk designer have always been stifled by her husband - until she makes a decision which could change all of their fates. As the silk weaving industry descends into rioting, both women are drawn into the rebellion, and towards a reckoning day of their own.The character of Esther is based loosely on a real 18th century silk designer, Anna Maria Garthwaite, and the title Blackberry and Wild Rose is the name of one of her designs. The title also represents the protagonists: Sara being Blackberry (somewhat prickly and bitter-sweet) and Esther, a cultivated bloom who becomes the Wild Rose.
