The much-anticipated follow up to the bestselling The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k

From the author who brought you the bestselling book everyone is talking about, The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k:

the no-f**ks-given, no-holds-barred guide to living your best life.

The Confession

Jo Spain
Authors:
Jo Spain

Julie and Harry had the perfect marriage. . . Until it all went terribly wrong. Late one night, a man walks into the luxurious home of disgraced banker Harry McNamara and his wife Julie. The man launches an unspeakably brutal attack on Harry as a horror-struck Julie watches, frozen by fear. Just an hour later the attacker has handed himself in to the police. He does not contend his guilt, but claims he does not know his victim, that the attack was unplanned and committed in a fit of madness. Was this just a random act of violence? Or is it linked to one of Harry's many sins: corruption, greed, betrayal? And of the three, Harry, Julie and the stranger - who is really the guilty one?

Does It Fart?

Dani Rabaiotti, Nick Caruso
Authors:
Dani Rabaiotti, Nick Caruso

The ultimate guide to animal flatulence: the perfect gift for anyone who has ever farted.Dogs do it. Millipedes do it. Dinosaurs did it. You do it: I do it. Octopuses don't (and nor do octopi). Spiders might do it: more research is needed. Birds don't do it, but they could if they wanted to. Herrings do it to communicate with each other. At the beginning of 2017, an innocent question on twitter about snakes formed the hashtag #doesitfart and spread pungently across the internet - and major newspapers - as dozens of experts weighed in on which animals do and don't fart, and if they do, how much, how often, what it's made of, what it smells like, and what it's for. Does it Fart? is the result: the fully authoritative, fully illustrated guide to animal flatulence, covering the habits of 80 animals in more detail than you ever knew you needed. What foods make hyena farts smell especially bad? What is a fossa, and does it fart? Why do clams vomit but not fart? What is a fart, anyway? With contributions from dozens of biologists, Does it Fart? is a book that will allow you to shift the blame all kinds of unlikely animals for years to come.

Catfulness

A Cat
Authors:
A Cat

Human beings love to create problems for themselves. I observe this on a daily basis, as do all my feline friends. They never stop, and one of their favourite tasks is to find more tasks to do. They are always looking for something, as if the life they have isn't enough. They say they're looking for happiness - but do they know what happiness is?We cats know the art of living. We eat when we're hungry, sleep when we're tired. Sitting for hours outside a mouse hole has taught us patience. Staring at an aquarium has brought us meditation. And we know how to please ourselves.Catfulness is a seven-week mindfulness programme for human beings. If they can live their lives more like us, the world will be more serene. As Sigmund Freud said, 'time spent with cats is never wasted.'

The Little Book of Ikigai

Ken Mogi
Authors:
Ken Mogi

The Japanese talk about ikigai as 'a reason to get up in the morning'. It is extraordinary that Japanese men's longevity ranks 4th in the world, while Japanese women's ranks 2nd. But perhaps this comes as no surprise when you know that the Japanese understanding of ikigai is embedded in their daily life and in absolutely everything that they do. In their professional careers, in their relationships with family members, in the hobbies they cultivate so meticulously. Ikigai is something that keeps one's enthusiasm for life going, whether you are a cleaner of the famous Shinkansen bullet train, the mother of a newborn child or a Michelin-starred sushi chef. But how does one find ikigai? How does ikigai contribute to happiness? Neuroscientist and bestselling Japanese writer Ken Mogi provides an absorbing insight into this way of life, incorporating scientific research and first-hand experience, and providing a colourful narrative of Japanese culture at the same time.
