Handpicked: Coffee Shop Tour

To celebrate International Coffee Day next Friday, we’ve rounded up our top five coffee spots in London. Espresso yourself in a different one everyday next week and let us know what you think and drink on Twitter @octopus_books.

Start your Monday in Allpress Espresso Bar on Redchurch Street. In an area famous for pop ups and constantly changing cafes, Allpress Espresso Bar has proven to have staying power thanks to the fierce support of local coffee drinkers.

Tuesdays are all about Tap Coffee. At this café it’s not just the coffee that’s black, keep your eyes peeled for their signature black bike floating above the door.

On Wednesdays, we wear pink at Prufrock Coffee in Farringdon. You know they’ve got skills when their coffee shop doubles up as a coffee school. Try your hand at a latte art workshop or private barista training.

Cycle to work on Thursday and stop at Look Mum No Hands! where they take their coffee just as seriously as their adjoining bicycle repair shop.

Friday’s child is the queen of coffee, Monmouth in Borough Market. The queue is out the door and round the corner, but the incredibly lovely (and coffee-skilled) team make you feel right at home. Don’t forget to grab one of their chocolate truffles with your brew.
