Quercus Poetry
Authors:
Quercus Poetry

*DISCOVER THE AMAZING POWER OF POETRY TO MAKE EVEN THE MOST F**KED UP TIMES FEEL BETTER* When it feels like the world is falling apart around you, things can seem pretty f**ked. But even the greatest poets past and present have also lived through sh*t times. And you know what? Just like us, they felt f**ked off about the way the world was going - and they wrote about it in poems that show that no matter how bad things might seem, you're not alone. In Poems for a world gone to sh*t you will find inspiration to guide you on a journey from feeling 'what the f**k' and that first instinct to just get the f**k away from it all, to getting some peace and perspective before feeling empowered to do something about this sh*t - and finally realising that life can still be pretty damn beautiful. Reflective, funny, political, inspiring, insightful, dark and sometimes light, these poems are about remembering to keep looking up at the stars, whatever sh*t life throws at you.Poems for a world gone to sh*t includes poems by Maya Angelou, Nikita Gill, Kate Tempest, Hollie McNish, Wendy Cope, Kim Addonizio, Larkin, Lorca, Tracy K. Smith, Emily Dickinson, Byron, Milton, Emily Bronte, Christina Rossetti, William Blake, Paul Dunbar, Coleridge, Shakespeare, Shelley, Charlotte Bronte, Katherine Mansfield, Walt Whitman, Lola Ridge, Edward Lear, Kipling, Lewis Carroll, Edith Nesbit, Khalil Gibran . . . and many more.

Katie Piper

Katie Piper's extraordinary story of strength and recovery after a brutal rape and acid attack has captivated Britain. In this powerful sequel to her bestselling memoir, Katie tells the remarkable story of what's happened in the years since she bravely left the safety of her parents' home. With her trademark honesty, humour and heartfelt emotion, Katie shares the highs and lows she has faced as her life changed in ways she never thought possible.
