The elves, dwarves and humans all know the älfar to be dark, relentless warriors. This is their time.

The elves, dwarves and humans all know the älfar to be dark, relentless warriors. This is their time.

In Dson Faïmon, the realm of the älfar, the warriors are planning a military campaign. Caphalor and Sinthoras are looking to enlist a powerful demon to strengthen their army - but the two älfar have very different goals. Heitz keeps on delivering ... I would recommend Righteous Fury to everyone looking for exciting Tolkien-inspired fantasy — Upcoming4me
Tolkien with a dash of Gemmell and a sprinkling of George R.R. Martin — Malazan Empire on Markus Heitz
Driven by unrelenting action, [the book] springs to life through the vivid, vigorous writing — Kirkus on the Legends of the Alfar
A Tolkienesque fantasy adventure novel needs a solid villain for the readers to loathe, and in Markus Heitz's Righteous Fury, we find a quite impressive one . . . If your bookshelf is already home to Tolkien, Martin, and company, Righteous Fury will find a comfortable spot to fit in — Booklist on Righteous Fury
The prose is sharp, the action sequences bloody and all in this has been a real joy to read. Throw into the mix some cracking double-dealing, some political machinations and all in this series has been a pure joy from start to finish and definitely one I'd recommend to other fantasy fans — Falcata Times
There is adventure, fighting, death, one truly gruesome act and a people going to war. I enjoyed this book and I want more about the Älfar. Because at the end, stuff is going down — Books for Life
A welcome return to the world of Markus Heitz's Dwarves series — Dominish
I enjoyed the book. It's a well written fantasy story . . . I suppose it bears warning that the main characters are evil Alfar, so you've got to be able to get through a few grotesque descriptions and overall evilness of the people in order to really enjoy the story — Novelnaut

The Norse Myths

Dr Tom Birkett
Authors:
Dr Tom Birkett

The great Norse Myths are among the most dramatic and unforgettable stories in all human history. These fascinating, fantastical tales have inspired centuries of art, culture and literature, including the storytelling of Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, George RR Martin's Game of Thrones, Wagner's Ring Cycle and Marvel Comics. The Norse Myths takes us on a thrilling journey through the Norse cosmos, from the creation of the world to Ragnarok, the final world-destroying conflict; via the Nine Worlds, and the exploits of the mighty gods and goddesses - mystical Odin, malicious Loki, mighty Thor and more - and their quarrel with the giants. Bringing to life the magical world of monsters and mythical creatures, this also introduces the adventures of humankind: folk heroes and tricksters; Sigmund's great battle in the Volsung Saga; the exploits of Kings and Princes; and Viking exploration and settlement of new lands including Iceland, Greenland, America, and Viking life in the Mediterranean and the East. As well as a treasure trove of these epic stories of heroism and cruelty, squabbles and seductions, The Norse Myths is a comprehensive study of their origins, survival and interpretations - as academically important as it is exhilarating.
