Lucky's only real friend is Kayla - a ghost - until she meets gorgeous Guardian Jamie and sexy Deathbringer Jinx . . . 'Reads like the Sookie Stackhouse series combined with the sinister undertones of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere' says Booklist.

Lucky's only real friend is Kayla - a ghost - until she meets gorgeous Guardian Jamie and sexy Deathbringer Jinx . . .

Lucky's always known about her own psychic powers - after all, her closest friend is a ghost - but she knows nothing of her long-dead family . . . until a daemonic assassin brings a message that drags both Kayla and Lucky down to the Underlands - and into the political fight for the daemon king's throne.

Lucky's determined to find her way home, but Jinx and Jamie have both marked her - and now she's not sure she even wants to escape the loving attentions of her handsome winged Guardian and her devilishly charming horned Deathbringer.

And if she stays, she might just find out who she really is . . .

'Reads like the Sookie Stackhouse series combined with the sinister undertones of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere' says Booklist.

Biographical Notes

Sue Tingey is the author of the fantasy romance series The Soulseer Chronicles and lives with her husband in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

She spent twenty-eight years working for a major bank and after taking voluntary redundancy in 2001 spent another fourteen or so years working as a practice manager for an arboricultural consultancy. She has now given up the day job to allegedly spend more time with her husband; he however has noticed that an awful lot more writing appears to be going on.

Sue admits that storytelling is her obsession and was thrilled when she was offered a three book deal by Jo Fletcher Books in 2014.

Wyntertide

Andrew Caldecott
Authors:

'Intricate and crisp, witty and solemn: a book with special and dangerous properties,' Hilary Mantel said of Rotherweird, the first book in the series; M.R. Carey called it 'Baroque, Byzantine and beautiful - not to mention bold'. The town of Rotherweird, independent from the rest of England since Elizabeth I, has resumed its abnormal normality after a happy ending to the travails of summer. But is it really all over? Disturbing omens multiply: a funeral delivers a cryptic warning; an ancient portrait speaks; the Herald disappears - and democracy threatens the covenant between town and countryside. An intricate plot, centuries in the making, is on the move. Everything is pointing to one objective: the resurrection of Rotherweird's dark Elizabethan past, and to one date: the Winter Equinox. In Rotherweird, nothing and nobody are quite what they seem. Wyntertide is a twisted, arcane mystery with shades of Deborah Harkness, Kate Mosse, Hope Mirrlees, Ben Aaronovitch, Mervyn Peake and Edward Gorey at their disturbing best.
