Antony Mason

Antony Mason is the author of some 80 books on travel, exploration, history and art. The special role that islands have played in his life has convinced him of their distinctive magic: he met his wife while working in Martinique, they honeymooned in Phuket, travelled around Bali with their nine-month-old son to research his first travel guide, and now they have a house on the Île de Ré. He has written on travel for Cadogan Guides, Dorling Kindersley, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, the Daily Telegraph and Condé Nast Traveller.
